FTP, which is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol, is among the most commonly used methods of exchanging website files between a PC and a server. With FTP client software like FileZilla, you can establish a connection to your hosting account and drag & drop files or entire folders in either direction and the software itself will take care of all the rest. There are a number of pluses of employing File Transfer Protocol, among them the option to resume an upload/download if there is a problem with the FTP connection or the option to set up different FTP accounts. With the latter option, you can set up FTP users that can connect only to particular folders in your web hosting account, but no other folders, emails or other info, which makes it the ideal option especially when you have to provide a web designer with access, for instance. You can also use an FTP account with famous applications like Dreamweaver or FrontPage and upload the website content that you have created straight from them, without the need to resort to any third-party software.

FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting

You can set up as many FTP accounts as you need with each of the Linux cloud hosting that we offer, because we’ve decided not to restrict this feature. Thus, you can have multiple websites simultaneously or give other individuals access to multiple directories. As soon as a given job has been fulfilled and you do not want that person to be able to connect to your website files anymore, you can update the password for the FTP account in question or you can just remove the account with a few clicks of the mouse and quit worrying about somebody using it once again. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with all shared accounts, will allow you to view the full list of the existing FTP accounts listed alphabetically. It takes only one single click to manage various options for any of them – to change the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our Linux semi-dedicated servers are rather powerful, which makes them ideal for hosting a large number of websites. Speaking of which, we’ve chosen not to put a restriction on the number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you can have a different FTP account for each site that you host on our semi-dedicated servers. All FTP accounts will be shown alphabetically in the corresponding section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which is offered with each semi-dedicated account. For any of them, you’ll be able to view the access path and to edit it, if necessary. In addition, you can set up the account in a client of your desire by downloading an auto-config file and running it on your PC, which will save you time. In case you have never opened a hosting account before, you can watch our elaborate tutorial video clips, which are available in the exact same section of the Control Panel.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

None of the VPS servers offered by us includes any limit on the total number of FTP accounts that you can manage at any moment, so you can set up a separate FTP account for any site hosted on your virtual machine, regardless of whether it is under a domain or subdomain. It also doesn’t matter which hosting Control Panel you will select when you register – Hepsia, DirectAdmin or cPanel, since an FTP server will be set up on the VPS at the time of the installation of any of them. If you want several persons to make an FTP connection to the very same folder with their own personal sign-in details, for instance, it will take a few clicks to create an FTP account for each one of them. Removing an existing account or modifying the folder that it can access is just as simple and you will not have to deal with any complication, even if you don’t have past experience in such matters.
